I own a Volkswagen virtus highline 1.0 Manual Transmission and here is my ownership experience in 1 month with 3500kms of run.
I got my car in mid of February 2023, i was so excited to take my virtus on the first long drive. So me and my three friends planned a trip to Kasol in march and we left for this beautiful trip to Himalayas in my VW virtus. We have covered a total of 1300 km from delhi to Kasol and back. I will describe my whole experience in these 5 points-
Positives:
1. Ride Quality:
Driving from city traffic to highways and to hills with rough roads, we also went to tosh that is 20kms from Kasol with almost no roads practically, i personally experienced the benefit of high ground clearance which is 180 mm that is highest in any sedan in india. The vehicle made it to the rough roads effortlessly. The suspension system is well-tuned, which helps to absorb bumps and road imperfections. The Virtus also has a good balance between comfort and handling, making it a practical choice for everyday driving.
The steering is responsive and well-weighted, which adds to the driving experience. The brakes are also effective and provide good stopping power
2. Power:
The 1.0-liter engine is known for its efficiency and strong low-end torque, which makes it well-suited for city driving. It is also capable of delivering good performance on the highway. Throughout the trip i have not experienced that the vehicle is underpowered at all.
The 1.0 liter engine comes with turbo which makes the vehicle feels like you’re driving a diesel engine. Perhaps with more effectiveness on hills as well as highways.
3. Comfort:
Me including me three friends enjoyed our trip with comfort and style. The cabin of the Virtus is also designed to be comfortable, with ample headroom and legroom for both front and rear passengers. The seats are supportive and well-padded, which makes for a comfortable ride, even on long journeys.
The Virtus also features a range of features to enhance comfort, such as automatic climate control, a touchscreen infotainment system, and a range of safety features.
4. Safety:
Volkswagen Virtus is a safe and practical sedan that is equipped with a range of safety features to ensure the safety of its occupants. It has received high safety ratings in crash tests conducted by independent safety organizations in some markets, such as the Latin NCAP (New Car Assessment Program).
Sitting in Volkswagen car the one thing that we had in our mind that we are in safe hands, with the strongest build quality and safety features we felt more secured and safe throughout our trip.
5. Mileage:
The first concern of a middle class indian is ‘ KITNA DETI HAI?’ We were literally in shock when we calculated the fuel expense and the mileage of virtus during our trip.
Four persons in the car with one suitcase each of the luggage. Driving at the max speed of 120km/h on highways the fuel cost that we calculated was Rs. 6500 which gave us the mileage between 16kmpl to 17kmpl. Which was quite impressive. If we break down our fuel expense in four we got a share of Rs. 1625 per person.
Conclusion
In my experience Volkswagen Virtus is the most reliable sedan in the Indian market in the year 2023. As compared to its competitors hyundai and Honda it can easily win in terms of these 5 points that i have mentioned.
With a on road price of Rs. 14.65 lacs in delhi, I believe it is the most reliable sedan of the year.
